Reflective Blog #1 - Classroom Blogs

While seaching for examples of educational, classroom, and teacher blogs, I discovered a few blogs that I felt were beneficial to a person who has not experienced a blog before. The following is a list of blogs that I would like to share with you.

For Classroom Blogs:

Mrs. Frandsen's Class Blog:  http://missfrandsensclass.blogspot.com/

This blog has different links for resources for educators and parents, recent videos on their classroom activities and a tracker map to track visitors to the blog. This could be used as a lesson on geography and also on technology. The format of this blog is similar to mine - dots, with pastel colors. I believe it is a little too pastel for an elementary page though. I would recommend this site to educators as an example of how a blog can represent a class.

Patterson's Pack - 1st Grade and Blogging! How Great is That?: http://mrspatterson.edublogs.org/

This blog is great! The format is similar to a newsletter. Has a great title (header) and links. There are great book reviews and activities for the classmates and visitors of the blog. This blog also has a visitor tracker and plots them on a map. This would be a great way for parents to view what their child is doing daily in class. It looks like a great communication link for teacher and parents. I would definitely recommend this blog because of the information it contains, how easy it is to navigate, and the different educational activities it contains. Very creative.
